Heavy vehicles are banned from using metal bridge over the Revué river, on the Chimoio-Sussundenga section ( Km 33+000) of the N260 in Manica province for a period of 20 days.
The measure follows after damage to the bridge’s metal structural components caused by a traffic accident involving a heavy vehicle on Saturday (14-06).
The temporary suspension of traffic will facilitate the repair and replacement of the damaged components.
“During the suspension period, heavy vehicle drivers are advised to use alternative routes such as the N260, Sussundenga-Dombe section, the R520: Dombe-Chitausse (Goonda); the N1: Chitausse (Goonda)-Inchope or the N6: Inchope-Chimoio,” states a note from the National Roads Administration (ANE), adding that technical teams are already on the ground, with a view to fully restoring traffic circulation.
